Arbor Day - The only holiday dedicated to trees!

Arbor Day is a ready-made opportunity for calling attention to trees. How do you celebrate?

Is it a mandatory requirement for your Tree City USA annual application?

Is it a beloved community event with a tree give-away?

Is it a children's event with schools and poster contests?

Arbor Day was founded in 1872 and is now celebrated around the world. While often lumped in with Earth Day, Arbor Day focuses on TREES. We can all do our part by looking up when each state celebrates.  Then gather a group of volunteers and plan an event and spread the word. State Urban and Community Forestry programs have started to post in their newsletters about their arbor day programs and resources. JOIN THE FUN!
