Supervisor Position:

The supervisor manages all aspects of our tree maintenance activities for our city trees, such as trimming, removal, and planting operations. They are also involved in our developing our apprenticeship program, experimental nursery where we trial new species, keeping our GIS inventory updated, building out work flow process and reporting system, maintaining our fleet and shop equipment, and directly answering questions from our community. The supervisor is also responsible for coordination our snow removal operations, and works as a weekend parks supervisor twice per year. This is a full time, fully benefited position, which includes vacation time, sick time, and a pension, among many other benefits.

Climber Position:

This position is responsible for applying their skill in tree trimming and tree removal jobs and maintaining equipment. In addition to skilled tree work, this position is also responsible for developing apprentices. This position also is part of our snow removal team as well as storm damage response. This is a full time, fully benefited position, which includes vacation time, sick time, and a pension, among many other benefits.

Apprentice Tree Climber Positions:

The City of Aurora Forestry Department participates in a US Department of Labor  apprenticeship for tree climbers, which includes free CDL training. This is a 2 year training position so no previous experience is required. This position also is part of our snow removal team as well as storm damage response. This is full-time, full year position, and comes with limited benefits, such as paid time off and the city's medical insurance benefit.
